We want children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), parents and carers to have a real say in how SEND services in Bromley are planned, delivered and improved.

There are lots of ways to get involved — whether you want to give feedback, take part in surveys and events, or work more closely with us to help shape services.

We regularly ask parents and carers to share their experiences and views through surveys, consultations, workshops and engagement events. Your feedback helps us understand what is working well and where improvements are needed.

SEND Network Champions are parents and carers who want to play a more active role by sharing information, gathering views from others and helping to improve communication between families and services.

Here are some of the Actions we have taken after listening to the community

Routes into employment

Young people want real, supported pathways into work.

We expanded supported internships and training opportunities and worked with local employers to promote inclusive workplaces for young people with SEND.

Preparing for transitions

Moving between schools is challenging and often poorly supported.

We delivered Year 5 transition sessions for families and worked directly with schools to strengthen support at key transition points.

Being involved in decisions

Parents and carers want to be genuinely involved, not just consulted.

Families now shape services through steering groups and regular co production meetings, working alongside professionals to influence real change.

Mental health pathways

Mental health services are confusing and difficult to access.

We launched a single point of access (iSPA), creating a clearer, joined up referral route and quicker decision making for families.
