This month we held our last Champions for Change (C4C) meeting for the current academic year.
Our focus was Moving to Adult Health Services and we were joined by Clare Wilson from SEL ICS. Clare is the Designated Clinical Officer; her role is to help the NHS support children and young people with special educational needs.
We talked about:
- How do you feel about moving or using adult health services?
- What would help you feel ready?
- What makes appointments easier?
It was also an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of our C4C members and to say goodbye to those young people who will be moving on to college in September.
As part of the celebrations, young people were presented with certificates signed by Senior Leadership in recognition of their commitment, participation and valuable contributions to Champions for Change throughout the year. It was wonderful to acknowledge and celebrate all that they have achieved.
Thank you to every young person who contributed. Your ideas do matter and will be used to make things better. Thank you also to the staff teams from Riverside, Marjorie McClure, The Glebe, Hayes School, Bullers Wood School for Boys and The Learning Centre for supporting the young people to attend.
We could not do this without your commitment and support. We have really loved working with you all this year. Enjoy your summer activities and holidays. We will see you all soon!
And finally, watch this space for the first C4C Newsletter, coming soon, where we’ll be sharing updates, achievements and opportunities to get involved.
